In-Person Events:

September 16, 2021: White’s Woods Medicinal Plant Walk  5:30 p.m. 

Whites Woods is home to many species of plants and trees that can offer food and medicine. In this plant walk, herbalist and certified teacher Dana Driscoll will cover approximately 15-20 plants and trees, focusing on wild foods and medicines that can be harvested sustainably.

October 2, 2021: Walk in Penn’s Woods—A Collection of Woodland Adventures

1:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m.; White's Woods Nature Center 12th Street entrance.

Once again, FWW will be participating in the Pennsylvania state-wide Walk in Penn’s Woods.

A Walk in the White's Woods Nature Center

This White’s Woods Nature Center walk will include a 3.7-mile loop via the Fleming and Spring Trails. This hike is rated as “intermediate.” On this walk, you can encounter birds, deer, wonderful plants, other small mammals, and even an artist! (See below.)  Friends of White’s Woods will provide a map at the 12th Street WWNC entrance.  Or you can join an FWW member on their daily hike!


October 2, 2021: “Painting in the Woods: The White’s Woods Open Air Painting Experience.”  

Invited artists will be in the woods with sketchbooks and easels in hand to realize one to three paintings destined for a public exhibition in late November.  More information available soon.
