Natural Succession

What is natural succession? It is the process of the development of vegetation in a place where logging, mining, a fire, or another disturbance, natural or not has occurred. It is what happens to a place without human interference.

This explains natural succession where a fire took place. We can use this example because some life did exist after White’s Woods was logged and rock quarried as life exists after a fire.

This provides more detail about succession.

The Hidden Life of Trees: This is a summary of the book. Wohlleben is a wonderful author and after reading this, leaving the woodland alone makes lots of sense.
